Discovering the Sacred Feminine Through Indigenous Roots and the Arts

Andrea Menard is a Métis performer, actor, singer/songwriter, TEDx speaker, wellness trainer, retreat host & founder of the Sacred Feminine Learning Lodge. A top influencer in feminine leadership — she trains women to live like a goddess.

Our conversation with Andrea cascaded through discussions on her work and being of service through acting, singing, writing and teaching. The ability to acknowledge and heal trauma through voice. The sacred feminine and giving ourselves the permission to speak.

We are honoured to publish this podcast on the first day of National Indigenous History Month.

Born in Manitoba, Andrea is a proud member of the Metis Nation of Canada. Her Metis family originates from St. Laurent, Manitoba, but settled in the interlakes region of Treaty 2 territory. She carries the name Skooteah Equahh, which means Fire Woman in Anishinaabe and the Cree name Notigwew Yutin, which means Grandmother Wind. These names deeply inform Andrea’s work.

NOTE: The podcast itself was recorded prior to the horrendous findings of 215 buried children in the mass grave at a former BC residential school last week. The themes, voices, and topics throughout this episode remain true and more important than ever.

We want to acknowledge our deepest condolences, respect, and love to all Indigenous families and people affected by the inexcusable history and acts of Canada's past and present. We are committed to continuing to host, shine light, and give a platform to people, voices, cultures, races, and experiences -- both similar and different from our own.
